Solar Panels & Regulators

Solar powered can be used in automatic gates in both swing and sliding configuration for normal home use or highly intensive industrial situations. Simple kits commonly use a 10 watt solar panel to provide the power consumed in a normal domestic traffic area but larger panels and regulators are necessary if running accessories or for intensive use.

SOLAR REGULATOR 12 VOLT 6A

Solar regulators are used to control the flow of current to the battery. This protects the battery in particular from over voltage or "boiling" as it is often referred. On simple 10 watt systems typically used on farm gates we often will not use a regulator as the 10 watt panel simply does not have the power to damage the battery but on anything larger than 10 watts it is a must.

The M149 is a German built regulator for 12 volt systems up to 6 amps which makes it suitable for all 12 volt panels on these pages.
